Rustic Chair and New Rug in the Entryway

Do you all ever have a week that you just feel blah? I am sure you do and that I am not the only one. Well last week felt like that for me. I was feeling uninspired and alone. If you don’t know my husband is in school a few hours away so we don’t get to see each other all the time. This has been going on for almost four years because of deployments and school. Well some weeks it takes its toll on me. Being a military wife is tough y’all. I definitely have my moments. Between being apart, waiting on orders, and going through our infertility journey, there are some weeks I want to hide from the world.

Lucky for me I have an amazing husband and he decided to drive up for the weekend (even though I am working most of it) to cheer me up. Oh how I love him! Anyways, the point of this story. Last week when I was feeling down I did what I often do when I am in a low mood. I go shopping. I decided to poke around some thrift stores, antique stores, and some of my favorite other stores (Marshalls and TJMaxx).

At one of these thrift stored I came across this adorable rustic chair. I have a thing for chairs. Its a problem. Just ask my husband. I couldn’t resist grabbing it for under $20! Of course I wasn’t sure where it was going to go (I usually try to have a place in mind when I buy stuff but sometimes I am bad about it). I next found a really awesome rug that I just love at TJMaxx for under $15! Score! You can find some awesome rugs for a great price at Marshalls, Home Goods, and TJMaxx FYI. They had several different colors in this print but I of course fell in love with the grey one. I absolutely love the pattern!

Can we talk about the rustic look of this chair!? I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. It is such a great color and the rustic look of it is so perfect. This is why I have a chair problem! haha

The other recent thing I bought is another vintage oil painting. Something just draws me to them. I love the color and texture they have. This one I found at one of my favorite antique stores for around $30. It was such a great price so I grabbed it. I love the brown tones with a little grey in this area. I added a basket tray from Target, some faux olive branches from Decor Steals, and a Rae Dunn pitcher from Home Goods.

I have a thing for small corners in my home. For one they are so fun to decorate and for two they fill my home with character. It doesn’t take much to add a little life to a small space. I had a fun time being creative and it lifted my spirits getting to change up this space. Decorating is my happy place! I am such an introvert so it is something I can do and have my alone time and just flex my creative muscles. I’m sure this place will change again but for now I will enjoy it as it is. Let me know what you think and thank you for stopping by!

It must be in the air because I’ve been feeling pretty blah lately too. The closest emoji to my feelings is this one. 😐 Nothing. 😂 I’m also a huge introvert which I think it’s harder for us in those blah moments. I could become a hermit in those times. Your chair and space looks fabulous and I’m glad it made you feel better.
